My feeling is that most people who comment here are extremely judgmental and just want to feel better about themselves for a few minutes by tearing others down.

So I've pretty much stopped commenting. It just rarely seems positive. I read most secrets these days, but try to stay away from the comments that aren't thoughtful or actually discussing things.

The few times I've posted secrets they've been fairly personal and important to me, and frankly, not THAT controversial to anybody else. But the RAGE they provoked! The RAGE! :o

It was like, how dare you exist and think something other than I do?

I mean, I posted things about having issues in a fandom, and things about professional writing. Important to me, but not huge issues that should cause rage attacks and foaming at the mouth in strangers.

Commenting seems to be the same mixed bag, so I rarely comment at all these days, and if I do, comment late (like now) and don't tend to check back to see if I've been foamed-at over whatever I said. :o
