I don't eat frozen meals anymore (unless I cooked it myself and froze it), but when I did, I would do microwave only. Only I would pop the entree and sides out of their container and transfer to corningware or some other microwave-safe dish. And then I'd cover with a plate. Does that make me weird?

No. I usually transfer the food to my own dishes. I don't likje microwaving in plastic or coated paper.
