(Anonymous) 2015-07-22 01:01 am (UTC)(link)1. Bruce/Nat was poorly written and tacked on.
2. Clint's family makes it really hard to ship him with anyone else without making it AU and is also boring.
3. Pointless character death for shock value.
4. Thor's magic hot tub subplot was butchered to the point that it no longer made any sense.
5. The fight scenes were too flashy and CGI slathered.
6. Not enough talking about Bucky.
Personally I agree with 1-4 (I liked the action scenes and mention Bucky in passing was plenty). The first Avengers had problems but it was easy to look over them because it was the first of its kind and was, for the most part, light-hearted and fun. AoU was more complicated and relatively more serious, which lends to more criticism.
The part of it that bothered me was the lack of culpability, by Tony who created the murder bot in the first place, and Wanda, for sending a raged-out Hulk loose in a major city. Both of them have civilian deaths on their hands and aren't held responsible for it in the least.
So yeah, there are plenty of reasons not to like AoU and I've seen a lot more about them than the positives, at least in the places I fandom.

I can add to the list another caviet I've heard. 7. Ultron isn't impressive enough and the moving metal lips are distractig.
All valid critism. There's also a thought that it was Wanda's fault because she scared Tony in the beginning. Btw, I was late to the cinema so I missed this, which was funny when I discussed the movie and was like: "when did it happen?" and "I took a break there, so I missed it too".
I think your take on the fandom is more true to life then mine because I focus on its specific areas that interest me - Jarvis and Vision.
