I feel you, OP. Some of my dream jobs I wanted to apply for (including running the online store of a game and gaming merch store) required a driver's license. I had my permit, but let it expire because turns out my 3D vision isn't quite up to snuff - something they didn't test for, but it turns out it's extremely difficult for me to estimate how far away the curb is when I sit in the driver's seat because of that, and the extra stress really got to me. Now that I'm unemployed and desperate for a job, I'd be willing to try and get my license again... problem is, it would cost me around 3000 euros, which is how far I am already into debt due to mental illness -related fuckups.

Life is fun.

I'm sorry for all those RL issues, OP. I'm dealing with similar problems because of my mental illness. I need a job, too, and it's hard in today's market.

I had a very similar problem. My depth perception is very off so I always think the curb/car/whatever is much closer than it actually is. But I've learned to compensate for some of it. I drive, in what I think, is close to the lines in the middle of the road and that keeps me right where I should be. Curbs are a problem but there's not much parallel parking where I live so I can mostly avoid them.

That being said, I loathe driving thanks to migraines so I only really do it when I absolutely have to/in an emergency.
