Constant posts about how they've almost reached x number of followers! Just y more followers until they make it!

I really don't care and that just put the number of posts they made that I didn't care about over the top so that there weren't enough that I did care about to balance it out.

Oh and I usually follow their advice if they make some huffy comment about how if you don't like some opinion of theirs then you can unfollow, unless I really like most of the posts they make. The attitude behind those comments annoys me more than the opinions they might be talking about.

Yeah, those types of post annoy me a lot too. It's like they're not even open to the possibility that their opinion may not be the only decent one.

And sometimes they'll make a follow-up post about how "x number of people have unfollowed me after I said that!" which is really annoying. I did end up unfollowing someone who made this type of post with a bunch of tags like "GOOD RIDDANCE" and "IDGAF" and that was just the last straw (they were posting less and less stuff that I initially followed them for anyway but this just kind of pushed it over the edge).

I forgot this trend. Yeah, can't stand people who micromanage their followers. Especially since it's more likely they are lying about being unfollowed or it was just coincidental timing. Being unfollowed isn't a big deal...

I hate that too.

The follower game on tumblr is so weird to me. It's nice when I get more followers because that means there are more people likely to interact with me, but I don't get the concern with reaching certain amounts.

I'll admit I was kind of impatient to get from 99 to 100, but that wasn't something I thought anyone else needed to know about for no reason.

When I first joined tumblr back in 2011 I'd make those posts where I'd say thank you to the people following me every time I got a new follower. It lasted maybe a month and then nobody followed me for a long time, to be fair I wasn't doing much on my blog and anything posted was reblogs. I don't even follow that many people either.
