I'm kind of with you, OP. My impression has always been that she's a really great person - smart, pleasant, generous, etc., and an acceptable if not hugely talented actress - but the culture around her seems to be really tied up with a lot of things that have nothing to do with her and that make me uncomfortable.

Both liking her and disliking her have come to be semi political opinions in the nerd world, and I don't like it. I wish her all the best but I can't say I'm fond of her.

This is the most sensible approach. I feel this way about most famous people who are crushed on by others. They might be nice, good looking people, but... somehow the fandom that surrounds them are about something else beyond that and it's weird.

You're not fond of her because of something that isn't her fault and that you acknowledge has nothing to do with her?

She definitely plays into and plays up that culture. It's inaccurate to say that she has nothing to do with it or isn't her fault

Plus some times people find their enjoyment of seething tainted by the fans. It's unfortunate but it's life

da

What are you actually referring to when you say she "plays into that culture"...? You've said no specifics.
