I had someone spoil Harry Potter 6 for me. He was a kid, old enough to read and enjoy HP but not a whole lot older, and he was just being a brat. I was halfway through the book and he told me about Snape and Dumbledore both with assholish glee.
Obviously not all book readers are the same and I'm sure you know that, but I don't really blame you for feeling the way you do, emotionally.

(Anonymous) 2015-07-24 10:26 am (UTC)(link)I should note that at this point it had changed several deaths, added a bit of backstory and hinted at a new subplot so it wasn't like they were completely the same. Not to mention that, y'know, most people aren't gonna bilge-watch/read the source material whenever there's a new adaptation just in case people won't use the spoiler tags for the adaptation when posting in the adaptation tags.

I mean I'd avoid the tags if I didn't want to be spoiled because I know how lazy people are about tagging. But the rationale of "we shouldn't HAVE to because the original already came out and we're doing you a favor anyway!" is so, SO stupid.
