Libreoffice Calc

(Anonymous) 2015-07-25 08:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I know this is a long shot, but does anyone know how to take a list, and see how many things are on that list in Libreoffice Calc?

Like, say I have a list of fruit:

Lemon
Grape
Apple
Lemon
Watermelon
Lemon stealing whore
Grape
Apple
Lemon

And I want to see how many of each type of fruit I have (3 Lemon, 2 Grape, 2 Apple, etc.) how do I do that? Does anyone know?

Think you might need to use pivot tables?

IDK tho, I don't really fuck around with spreadsheets much anymore

Late reply, and been a looooooong time since I had to figure out formulas, but have looked at using SUMIF statements?

If I just needed the numbers and didn't need to do it the 'proper' way for an assignment or something, AND if this Libreoffice Calc has all the same functions as Excel, I would filter the list for each category of thing I needed and just count the results of each feature.
