The difference I believe is, chasers are rarely interested in a real relationship with a real person. They want a real life fantasy with a stereotype they have concocted in their heads. A person who has a type just likes a look, but also acknowledges that the person they are interested in is an individual person.

This. Chasers are like fetishists; they care almost solely about a certain attribute (weight, for example) rather than the person that that attribute belongs to
