what if that person IS actually causing suffering?

like real pain?

I mean we're always talking on this comm about how people are allowed to cut out toxic people even if those people are toxic because of mental illness. (I'm not talking about autism since I don't know much about it but stuff like depression and other psychiatric illnesses can make you toxic.)

I don't think cutting someone out should be a first resort but people are acting like the suffering of those around them doesn't matter and that's very callous imo.

Um....I wasn't talking about cutting out people so much as I was talking about discarding agency when it comes to "cures"

So what are your alternatives? If you have a person who is legitimately causing suffering to those around them (and again, that DOES happen) what do you think is the best course of action?
