You're not alone. There's a reason live action porn is clean. It looks nicer and removes the messy parts so you can focus on the fantasy. Every time someone cries about how fic sex isn't realistic, I think they're missing the point.

I also think they've never experienced shitty anal sex before, pun intended.

Why is it always anal sex or slash that's targeted, anyway? Nobody cries about how a vag that's been soaking in a pair of thick jeans in the middle of summer should be swampy or else it's unrealistiiiic

In regards to this, my guess is that, with slash, and the accusations of fetishization, women who write it want to avoid coming across as OMG IT'S SO HOT FANTASY PORN and so they write it "realistically" in order to demonstrate that they care about presenting it correctly and don't just want to see the HOT MENZ get it on.

I, personally, don't have any issue with admitting I like to see the HOT MENZ get it on, but some women might or have had the charge of fetishization lobbed too many times.

With female characters, writing fantasy sex doesn't have that connotation of fetishization I'd imagine.

I've seen the rare example here and there, but no small group pushing for "more realism" and "realism = better" like there is with slash because with het the accepted idea is that it's supposed to be fantasy

Honestly, I'd imagine that by sheer numbers most criticism of fandom porn is criticism of slash porn. Just because that's the majority (DISCLAIMER: NOT NECESSARILY TRUE FOR ALL FANDOMS, JUST VERY MUCH FOR ALL THE FANDOMS I'VE BEEN IN, MOST OF WHICH ARE JUGGERNAUT TYPE FANDOMS)

idk but it comes off as lowkey homophobic to me for people (who are usually not gay men) to write with SUCH heavy focus on how difficult, messy, painstaking, awful, etc it is to have anal sex– it's like a half-step away from the "gay sex is unnatural!" crowd and makes me uncomfortable

I agree - and it ties into the (to me) infuriating tendency amongst some fangirls to treat m/m fanfiction as extra ~kinky. Het is just too vanilla and normal for them!
