It always strikes me as so condescending when people gush about how beautiful someone is because of such-and-such hardships in their life. It just comes off like they are baby-talking to a young kid. There are other things you can praise someone for like courage and strength of character.

It also seems hypocritical that some people will criticize other women of getting plastic surgery and getting airbrushed on magazine covers as setting unrealistic expectations. Caitlyn is by no means unattractive but I don't think that her looks are the most important thing to take away from her story.
