Compare Peter's horrified reaction to Hank's.

Well, considering he was wearing a mask and you could only see his back...

Also, wasn't he under the influence of something?

They tried retconning it in The Crossing, but then that was retconned too.

And even if you can't see his face, you can still tell by his attitude where he tells her to keep her mouth shut.

Sure, if you just look at that panel.

If you look at the entire ensuing storyline, where they actually engage with the fallout of Hank's violent breakdown, talk about how horrible him hitting Janet was, and get divorced, then your point is... let's say less strong.

But that would involve actually knowing what you're talking about.

yep. Or with the fact that Hank was so devastated that he almost killed himself.

but hey, it's easier to keep the idiotic meme alive.

I actually did read that story, and that only happened after he got kicked out of the Avengers first.

Being sorry about hitting women does not make t ok to ever hit a woman.

Jesus Christ!

The point is that Hank understood it wasn't OK. I don't think you understand how long he was basically gone from the comics, as a failed superhero, while his ex was a mainstay of the Avengers. He eventually showed up years (our time) later, on the West Coast team, far away from Jan.
