Revolutionary Girl Utena

I've finally started watching this show and holy shit I love it so much, I am positively kicking myself for not watching it when I was teenager because it was an anime and teenage!me thought anime was dumb. I just know if I'd have given it a chance I would have loved it as much as I do now (maybe even more).

So. Anyone have recs for... literally anything? Fic, art, meta, fanvids, whatever, I WANT IT ALL! :D

Ahh I watched the first... season and a half a couple years ago? When I was a senior in college. And I remember thinking that if I were still in high school, I would've been obsessed and really looked up to and identified with Utena. Not that it wasn't enjoyable still! I should go back and finish it, though I think I might just need to start from the beginning because I do recall it being a bit confusing.

You should definitely start from the beginning! It can get very mind screwy at times. Even the more "conventional" episodes are still quite surreal.

I don't have the links at the moment but there's at least two AMVs for Utena that I like -
Hit me baby one more time - [the Dweezil Zappa version of the song] - Touga and Sanoji (green haired one - can't remember how to spell his name) singing towards Utena and Anthy respectively
and Womanizer - Britney Spears [a dig at almost all of the male characters (I think Miki's exempt from that slam)]

There was an utena forum, I'm not sure if it is still active. The fandom is pretty devoted though, if they are still around. Glad you love it! It's one of my favorites too.
