Things may be looking up for you. Recently, I've noticed a lot of backlash against the whole "good characters are boring and you're boring if you like them" thing, with people heavily criticizing the woobification of antagonists and even viewing villain fans as immature. I guess it's because we're at a point where villains get so much attention from fandom that they've become overrated, whereas the supposedly overrated protagonists actually are ignored and often hated by the most vocal parts of fandom.
