YOU GET ME.

Back during the 90s, when Grim n' Gritty was the style, I would get actually mocked for liking a dorky, outdated, unrealistic character like Cap. So certainly I'd never make fun of someone else for liking a good version of a character I like (I reserve the right to look down on fans of Ultimate Cap) but I occasionally feel like I've paid my fandom dues in a way they haven't. Which is totally unfair, I know, but... yeah.

I'm a sucker for those good, idealistic, kind, does what's right because it's the right thing to do heroes. So I understand how annoying it is when people tell you that good is boring, childish, and like you said, unrealistic.
