I was really confused for a minute because I know I've seen shots of her topless from other movies and I thought she'd even done nude scenes before.

So she's just saying she won't do them JUST for titillation -- there has to be a purpose. I don't think that's wrong of her. I quite agree.

Not that she needs an explanation for not wanting to do nude scenes. I mean, is there some kind of moral obligation as a feminist to get her kit off on camera or something?

But yeah, she's talking about wanting to be true to the character and the story, and that if she feels her character's lack of clothing serves no purpose to the character or the story, she's gonna put her foot down.
