Hard to say. My strongest moral principle would probably be that it's wrong for an adult to use physical force to cause pain to a small child. But my mother thinks spanking is okay, and while I lost a lot of respect for her, I haven't cut her out of my life.

Honestly, I'd say it depends on what the alternative to spanking is.

If a parent is going to stop spanking but be verbally abusive, I'd say spanking is the lesser of two evils personally.

Immunisation though... but I did it last week and kiddo cried for about ten seconds.

Would not spank ever, my parents did it to me and I turned out alright was traumatised by it.
