tumblr biphobia and identity policing

I'd like to say that I'm live and let live (barring major crimes like sexual assault) but I just can't deal with people who feel the need to "correct" our self-definition that we've expressed since I came out 25 years ago. (see also).

I used to believe this part "that we have “two” sides or that we must be involved simultaneously with both genders to be fulfilled human beings" for the longest time. Ironically enough it was because my first exposure to bisexuality was a blog post in which the author told her coming-out story and how since then she dated girls with her husband's consent. I know better now but my 13 years old self apologizes.

"Monosexuality is a heterosexist dictate used to oppress homosexuals and to negate the validity of bisexuality."

I'm confused. Is this a different definition of "monosexuality" than the one that's typically used on tumblr these days?

Probably since Tumblr didn't exist then.

Biphobia and generalist statements about identity are pretty shit I agree.

Just engaging with that manifesto, I wince a little at the use of the term "homosexual". Also, some people are not monosexual but aren't bisexual.
