Maybe it's from all the fandom debates where people insist that X is unambiguously autistic in canon, and also from the number of internet denizens who say they are different and special and please excuse their bad behaviour because they think they've got undiagnosed autism. It is NOT okay AT ALL to have someone give you hate for it, just trying to think of whether they might be full of bile for having been involved in previous debates.

It might also be that, for example, Capaldi Twelve can be said to be definitely not deaf, blind or obviously mentally ill in canon, but it's a bit more open to interpretation as to whether he's autistic :) and that's threatening to some people.

Idk, but I'm sorry you get anon hate from ridiculous people :(
