I don't exactly hate most meat, but not liking it overmuch makes it much easier to abstain. I'd probably eat meat again the day lab-grown beef becomes available in supermarkets.

That said, I can not stand sea urchin. I've tried it three times now and every time it's too bitter for words.

Hmmm, that's weird. Sounds like you had sea urchin past its prime, because it's definitely not supposed to be bitter. It's supposed to be kind of like a savory custard, creamy and slightly nutty sweet.

I've had sea urchin in Japan, at an expensive restaurant where they took it out of a tank and cut it open in front of us and served it in its shell.

It was bitter. And briny like a mouthful of sea water, but holy fuck was it ever bitter.
