Not secret: I loved both of these characters and what they brought to their respective shows.

Secret: I wound up hoping that, for the sake of the plot/to show there aren't always happy endings, that both of them would wind up being deleted or having their memories wiped.

And yet for all that, I can't bring myself to write fanfic about the concept. I'd feel too guilty.

I'm just a bundle of contradictions, I guess.

a little OT but I always liked the lines in Jensen's face, which is a bit odd as I don't care for the face itself

on topic I agree, I enjoyed how they did it in Far Cry 4 where everything was supposed to suck and you were supposed to be disillusioned out of being a hero but it didn't feel as intentionally done in Deus Ex

I know what you mean, anon. There's the idea that somehow dying would make things happier, but when you see this character, you see the other side of the coin where you're just horribly angry and frustrated at everything in the world for resulting in a state where your life is at a frighteningly real risk of ending, just as easily as a match being snuffed out under a boot.

I hope things are more peaceful for you now. It's not an easy road for anyone to have walked.
