Honestly I'm just excited for a chance to wander a slightly more colorful wasteland. The Fallout series has been a lot of brown since 1996 -- which is fine, don't get me wrong, FO1/2 were from a different time and I rather enjoy Fallout 3's greenish blue and NV's loads of orange -- and it's nice to see them doing something a little different with the series. Bonus points because it'll upset the Old Fans.

Re: LIs -- yeah, expect Skyrim again.

TBH that's what jumped out about the game to me too... It was just so colorful! It made FO3 and FO:NV look really drab and boring in comparison.

Graphics and visuals aren't everything, but they can help set the tone.

Er, what exactly is the deal with LI's again? (Aren't you only going to be able to romance companions?) Maybe you'll be able to romance companions AND random NPC's, but if that's the case I imagine your companions romances will be a bit more fleshed out. (Oh, what I would have given to romance Boone and Arcade.)

Or at least I hope so, because while I like being given the option to romance and marry people (doubly so when there's same sex LI's as well!), the romances in Skyrim were...def not great. I married Lydia with my f!Nord and I swear she had about four phrases to say to me, and absolutely no cut-scenes or dialogue that felt unique.

So yea, hopefully it isn't a thing they added in as an afterthought. (I'm not going to expect much.)

I don't know what I'm most excited about... probably just playing in general.

That's where that one companions mod comes in! It makes it so you can kiss your companion.

Okay granted that's not much. No sexy times. BUT it's better than nothing.

I played the 360 version, though! At the time the game came out my computer wouldn't run it and I didn't have wi-fi at home anyway so downloading and installing a bunch of updates and mods would not have been impossible.

The mod community is talented as hell though, so maybe for Fallout 4? (If the game doesn't include kissing...but hopefully it will. Not saying I need a sex scene, but a few conversations and a cut-scene or two would be nice.)

Mjoll the Lionness, Lydia and Vilkas will never be forgettable LIs! Never! *marries them all*

Can you really? Gez, I'm behind.

But...does it even make sense unless you are a dirty cheater? Because from what I heard you wake up and you only then realise so much time has passed?? So, shouldn't you be all angsty about your wife/husband/child?

Don't get me wrong, YAY - because forced families aren't fun, but...sort of seems strange given the fact that you are/were married with a kid.
