It may be that you're being overly harsh with your opinions. Or it may be that you're just unlucky enough to hold a minority view, which can be hard and frustrating. Do you have friends you can ask to see if you come over a little strong in your commentary etc?

No friends who are interested in the fandoms, so there's an added level of "I have no idea what you're talking about, this doesn't make sense".

The latest incident, I definitely fell in the minority category, in that I couldn't even say "I think X, not Y" without setting someone off because the BNFs all vote Y and apparently me showing support for X meant I was policing their fandom experience... I dunno.

I sympathize, because I am in this position with one of my fandoms. Honestly the only advice I have is that *somewhere* out there there will be people who share your opinions, though it may take a long time to find them. In the meantime you unfortunately just have to try not to take negative reactions as a personal slight against you - it's just the show/whatever they disagree about, not you.
