OMG, that is the worst. I am so sorry.

Did you emphasize to the woman you finally spoke to that the other driver apologized to you AND admitted fault to the police officer? If you did that, then her saying "we have to determine who's at fault" may be more a formality than anything else.

I hope it works out ok, and ASAP. Hang in there!

Yep, I told her that the lady admitted it in front of the cop and so the cop should be able to back me up. I just hope that once we're able to see the police report, it tells what actually happened.
