Moar X-Files (spoilers)

[personal profile] kaijinscendre 2015-08-04 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
I am on Season 2! Specially finishing Fresh Bones. aka SCULLY'S FREAKOUT AND THOSE FINGERS COMING OUT OF HER HAND. WHAT. THE. FUCK.

And the bad guy was buried alive. One of my worst irrational fears.

It's a fucking spooky-ass episode!

Any thoughts on the beginning of the season? Especially the plot-arc-y stuff? Standout eps? Thoughts on Krycek?

Well, I am hoping more comes out of the whole Scully being kidnapped thing. Also, the alien blood. I assume there will be. I think this season definitely has a creepier vibe (I enjoyed the one with the murdering old people).

The only thing I got from Krycek was, "I bet people hate shipped him and Mulder". Also, I assume he will be back.

Yeah, it definitely seems a lot more horror-inflected in the second season (and also just... not that there aren't bad episodes, but they're bad in more interesting ways, usually). You have a lot more interesting twists on things (like the one with the Satanist teachers) and a lot more just gross and weird-ass stuff (the Flukeman). It's cool.

And yes. People shipped Krycek and Mulder. Oh boy, did they ship them.

I started watching X-Files (well, more like rewatching since I'd seen a lot as a child), but I didn't get past season 1. It is definitely one of those shows, like Buffy, that I'm going to have to really try hard to rewatch. I guess I'm not into the episodic nature of the show any more.

The beauty of netflix is binge watching.

Maybe Kumail Nanjiani's The X Files Files podcast is fun enough to get you through. It might be a little too inside baseball, though.
