They do though.

I don't know that I think reclaiming it is really the way to go - in my experience it's still mostly used to call out obnoxious people - but then, my experience in fannish spaces is pretty much limited to here, some IRL friends, and the occasional article. I've seen it used in other places online, and in some spaces bigots have co-opted it to try to shut down anyone who promotes social justice in a reasonable way.
