I used to think spiders would come crawling up the toilet if I sat down on it(I still kind of think this tbh but I have mastered the art of ignoring that particular train of thought when on the loo these days).

I used to think that flushing the toilet would summon some kind of demon or monster, so I would flush the loo, wash my hands and bolt down the stairs as fast as I could to get away before it finished flushing(because y'know the monster would only appear at the end of the flush cycle).

I used to be afraid of sharks, I thought they'd be in any large body of water and try to eat me, the fear of them faded but not the distrust of large bodies of water I can't see the bottom of.
