1. misfire

2. Don't be stupid.

3. Spot the straw feminism 'argument'

4. Deal with the fact that women make choices you don't like, that's the very essence of feminism. You clearly have a problem with women choosing each other over men, and are the reason why feminism is necessary.

REAL feminism is necessary because it's about treating men and women equally and not discriminating one way or the other against the genders. The "I won't do this because fuck MEN" attitude is inherently anti-feminist.

Or you know, it could be a coping mechanism for some women who've copped a lot of shit from men. A few friends or acquaintances of mine went through that stage after rape/abuse/just being fucking fed up. Others didn't. And you know what? It has made no dint in the Patriarchy, harmed no men, except that those women got to look after themselves a little more by putting themselves first, and that is pretty feminist *shrug*

* Patriarchy obviously meant sarcastically.

Coping mechanism? Lol okay. Some people cope by drinking alcohol. That doesn't make alcohol healthy, or feminist. Lashing out in a negative way isn't a part of feminism or any ethical ideology. It still is anti-feminist no matter how sympathetic your reasons.

Oh puhlease, addiction is your go-there comparison to self-protection?

(Anonymous) 2015-08-05 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not seeing where you're objecting. Your argument was "it's feminist if it's a coping mechanism" which was dumb, because coping mechanisms aren't inherently healthy or okay, and they CERTAINLY aren't somehow automatically feminist.

If women are trying to recover from the most damaging consequences of sexism by temporarily withdrawing from male influence, why is that not a feminist process? You saw the phrase "coping mechanism" and automatically thought "addiction", so perhaps "smart strategies for dealing with a fucked up violent abusive system" would be better.

How much this has to do with the OP's secret? Probably little.

It's really unfair to men that women can protect themselves physically or emotionally. All access to women all the time, or Jesus died for nothing!
