That could be a canon bleed issue.

Or an outright swap. With comic book characters these days, you've got dozens, if not more, of comic book storylines that have little or nothing to do with each other, different cartoon canons, television shows, reboot shows, movies, reboot movies, reboots of reboots. Maybe they like the way that one actor looks, like the backstory from a comic storyline, and like traits from a cartoon show. I'm not saying it's good or bad, but maybe they're drawing on multiple sources.
