Yep. This is why I firmly believe that Mary Sue should be a gender neutral term. There's definitely a double standard in place here.

There doesn't need to be a gender neutral term until stories start featuring gender neutral characters. Gary Stu is the common term for male characters who fit the trope. Sometimes people will use Marty Stu, but they're few and stupid.

Kirk is definitely a Gary Stu in some of the worse trek eps.
