Don't get me wrong, I like the character and Ryan Reynolds, and I'm glad he's getting a movie. I'm just worried they're going to go "omg so random! Edgy!" in a way that doesn't really work. Deadpool IS random, but I get the sense that writing Deadpool well is difficult, and I'm not sure a movie going for the lowest common denominator (as blockbuster movies must) is going to cut it.

That's a valid worry (although I think it's pretty much true for all Deadpool media). But the trailers have been pretty good IMO, and I think Reynolds should be good enough at getting that aspect of the character across, so I'm hopeful.

That and in my experience guys really really into Deadpool tend to be really shitty. The fandom might be icky.
