Not really unless you're the OP, who I was originally curious about.

Oh, well, I'll try to take this rejection best I can :'(

I wanna hear. i like hearing about people's ships even if I don't ship them.

I can't stand the MCU version of Steve/Tony. Not their dynamics in the films, not the way fans seem to ship it, not nuttin'! And while I don't judge fans of the ship on principle, I do kinda when I see a person shipping it in a certain way (Super Family, Woobie Tony, etc.).

Well, I did enjoy that ship back in the day. I even liked Woobie!Tony (to an extent!). But, I can't stand the way Tony is written in fandom anymore so I've fallen out of MCU for the most part.

I agree. Like, they spend almost all of Avengers and AOU fighting and bickering. And not even in the "lol I 'may kinda like you" kind of way. They seem to genuinely not like each other, until the very end of AOU where Steve says out of nowhere that he'll miss Tony...for some reason.
I don't think its a bad ship, but lol Tony/Bruce and Tony/Pepper have way more chemistry positive interactions imo.

Something about the name 'superfamily' irks me. Same as 'cyber husbands', which is Jarvis/Tony.
Got any other popular ship you dislike by any chance?

The only superfamily is the silver age nutty glory that includes Streaky and Krypto.

huh, don't know this fandom.

Silver Age Superman is extremely surreal and silly. It us not fit everyone, but it is fr me.

[personal profile] solticisekf 2015-08-15 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
I see!

(Anonymous) 2015-08-09 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
I agree. Steve and Tony really didn't seem to like each other all that much, more like work colleagues than actual friends. Tony seemed to really grate on Steve. Plus, Tony being Howard's son is a squick for me, so I don't ship it.

It's not hate on my part, more like I find the sheer popularity of Steve/Tony in the MCU baffling as there's basically nothing to go on for both Avengers films.

In the first Avengers they're being antagonistic and while I don't think it ever blows up into hatred I never got the idea that they were particularly friendly after everything, they seemed to respect each other at most then went their separate ways.

Then in AoU for some reason everyone's working together again with no explanation, and aside from occasionly butting heads Steve and Tony share no meaningful screentime until the end where for some reason Steve will miss him? There's no decent build-up to their supposed friendship at all tbh.

But I've long held the opinion that the only reason MCU Steve/Tony is popular is because people are just slapping the comic ship onto the movies despite how completely different the relationships are.

(Clint/Coulson still reigns supreme as the most wtf popular ship in this fandom though).
