I have no idea how to make fanvids, but I try anyway. You kind of have to jump into it, in my experience. Maybe read up a little on what program to use if you don't have one and start messing around. Depending on the program, there are usually tutorials on youtube for how to do specific things. Good luck.

I'm a bit like this when it comes to impractical/useless armour in general. I mean, I'm aware that it's often probably sexist when it happens to female characters, but I'm mostly pissed off about armour that looks like no armour ever would look/leaves all vulnerable parts of the body wide open and unprotected - no matter which gender wears it. I was raging all through Final Fantasy XII for that very reason - even the gus who have some sort of armour manage to have a damn cutout RIGHT OVER THE FUCKING HEART what the hell.

I've never gotten into American TV because there are usually too many episodes. I don't want to start something that's too dragged out or has multiple streaks of bad episodes. Reviews that say it only gets good after a season or so, or you should skip X eps really discourage me.

I find I can't really stay in fandoms where the people run either very old or very young. Very young for obvious immaturity reasons but very old because there are so many unspoken "the way we do things around here" that people get all grumbly about

Maybe they find your taste to be questionable more often than not.

But it's irrelevant. As much as it sucks to feel like you're not getting equal respect, your friend is not obligated to pick up anything you rec. You aren't obligated to pick up anything they send your way either.

Your feeling is right. They've all (minus Steven of course) very obviously been traumatized by the war and losing Rose. Steven is the most well adjusted at the moment, but that might not last if the show ends up going the way I suspect it will.

I wish this [Guardians of the Galaxy] was made and released pre- Tumblr fandom migration. It's the only thing that makes me specifically feel like messing with time like that.
I liked it so much despite its flaws, I never had the heart to really explore the Tumblr fandom. The criticism I found by searching LJ a few mins before making this was so much more to the point and less annoying than the stuff you generally bump into on Tumblr. And imagine the fic!

S!B "never...explore[d] Tumblr fandom", bashes Tumblr fandom; overestimates importance of platform; "feel like messing with time", cannot actually mess with time; what if it happened during racefail '09, is THAT what you would have wanted, OP?

I am a woman, jsyk. And I think it's great people are benefitting from things like Groot RP blogs, as some secrets have brought to my attention before. I am not joking.

Oh. My. God. Anon, are you reading my mind?! I feel exactly the same sentiment. I would love a modern reboot that kept all the golden-age cheese and nixed the '40s-era racism. It would be really, really nice.

Probably never going to happen, though.

Actually - one thing that could be really cool would be an animated cartoon version of Nelvana. And since Nelvana (the Canadian animation company) owns the rights to Nelvana (the character), it isn't an entirely out-there idea, even though it's not likely to happen.
