Windows media player! That's how I started too! I only made a few and they're not great effects wise, but they were soooooo fun to make! It's like you feel compelled to create. Just go ahead and grab something cheap and easy to use and get started! I have to warn you though, ripping footage takes up a lot of space even when you use downloads from the web of subs etc. It's so fun though, good luck!
