I've only ever written and posted one fic - a drabble. It got 22 kudos. I can't commit to anything longer than 100 words because I never finish it.

This thread is a reminder that we need better access to the AO3 database so we can do things like calculate average kudos count for various fandoms, tags, etc

114 for the Jurassic Park Muldoon/Clever Girl pinch hit I wrote a few Yuletides ago; with the comments added in it means just over 10% of the hits resulted in a comment or kudo, which is an average average.

I don't think it's a coincidence that this is the one fic I've written that's rated Explicit (and is mostly from the POV of a character who has a fuckton of fangirls, even though it doesn't actually feature the character in question getting it on).

I actually wrote a semi-popular Avengers fic that currently has 433 kudos . Honestly, I don't even think that fic is my best work, but that's fandom for you!

The sad thing is that it's the first real fic I wrote for the fandom, and nothing else has come close to being nearly so popular, and apparently most of the people reading that fic don't bother checking out anything else I wrote.

(though, I'm also terrible at pandering to the audience, which probably doesn't help)

Eight. The number of comments is even lower. I'm beginning to think I'm writing the "wrong" sort of things. Not really, it's just... I write PG-13 fics with canon ships, and I'm pretty sure that's not what they're looking for based on the other fics there. Oh well, I'm archiving more than looking for kudos or comments anyway.

12, for a drabble collection for a slash pairing I don't even like but I still wrote as a dare for the transgression vibe I got... and which turned out to be is quite popular within its fandom.
(Come to think, my top-5-most-kudo'd fics are for slash pairings that I only dabble into, and what I really like and write mostly for myself doesn't get recognition.)

2043, for a gen MCU deaging fic. Runner up is 1703, for a gen MCU kidfic (one of the characters has a kid). Going by my stats page, all of my top five are actually MCU gen of one stripe or another.

50. I'm kind of surprised, actually; it's for a fluffy gen fic. I would have pegged one of my other fics to be the one to get the most kudos.

(And all of this still does not explain why my Great Mouse Detective fic is the one with 1,400 hits while all the others are in the triple digits and average about 200 hits.)

3, for my first story I actually published a few days ago. Very very very small fandom. It's the first smut for it, so it'll probably swell to a decent number in time.
