It's different, though. The Connie/Steven fusion dance wasn't sexualized the way the Garnet/Amethyst one was.

call me prude, but all these kinda sexy gifs I saw of fusion dances kinda putt me off from the show.

I found them a bit odd, too.
Then again my prudishness is more that I dislike when kids' shows have blatantly sexual content or jokes that are okay because it "goes over the kids' heads". I don't like it.

yeah, true. I mean the gif sets are especially putting focus on the bits... but it feels like pandering to an adult audience + kids do pick up on it, in a way.

It sounds like they are trying too hard.

And I was the one who was told to "shut up" about saying that.

Stevonnie was definitely sexualized though.

But then that whole episode was a bizarre misstep.

Yeah, that episode is very screwed up to me. Everyone did the "homina homina homina" cartoon deal with Stevonnie (to put it nicely, I guess) and it's pretty creepy.

The writers have talked about how it's supposed to be a metaphor for puberty. That it's sudden and awkward and everyone starts sexualizing you and everything's supposed to be different, but you still feel like the same kid inside.
