Not that it excuses everyone's lack of response, but do you post often? If not, FB may actually be hiding your posts. There's posts I never see because FB has decided I don't really want to see them.

if by social media you mean Facebook, it's not that people don't care, it's like they that they didn't notice because they don't see any of your posts.

if you mean tumblr, well, could be the same - if you're not reblogging and tagging popular fandoms and the only people following you are in it for fandoms, they won't notice who is or isn't reblogging things.
