idk about better than Toy Story, but I liked Despicable Me a lot, and I like Minions. I didn't realize it was popular to hate them now, but I'm not really surprised since they've been in a lot of marketing lately.

Yeah, I am mostly indifferent to them, but I have seen so many not particularly funny Minions memes on FB that I'm getting really sick of the sight of them. I know that's not actually the fault of the original works, but it still kind of taints them by association.

This is news to me as well, I thought they were loved. So inoffensive and cute, I don't see the problem.
Plus I think Pierre Coffin is very clever, maybe all those other animators are just jealous because he had the idea.

A lot of people are angry and upset that a movie primarily centered on adoption and the definition of family ended up becoming... Minions.

There's nothing about Gru and the girls, just yellow tater tot critters.
