Oh GOD. Someone did a fan mix for one of my books that I actually had a Canon soundtrack to (unofficially, of course... I curated my own soundtrack and made it available as a YouTube mix with the caveat that none of it was official) and their mix was so terrible. God. I was irrationally pissed that they thought any moment in my book could be set to a Lana del Rey song or someone like that or worse, edm. I was offended. That was three books ago and I still get a pang in my heart thinking someone misinterpreted my characters enough to think that Edm was appropriate at any point, but whatever. I've gotten over it. Mostly. Sure, it's flattering that someone thought to make a mix based in your hard work, but man, they had terrible taste.
