My thoughts exactly.

Mad Max was included in the big fandom list! I'm pleased :D

Yeah, not really all that big of a fandom. It had a huge surge when the movie came out, but that was it.

My heart breaks when a fandom dies off slowly due to lack of new content. Current TV show fandoms are good because there's a new surge of material every few months.

There are some works that inspire lasting fans. Others seem to only inspire momentary fans. X-Men movie fandom seems to be only active when a new movie comes out. Mad Max seems to be the same.

I know! It's the flavour of the month and got a little boost but I expect it to fade into the background soon until the next movie comes out (that I will again be majorly sceptical and wary about)

On the same note, it always baffles me there's always people yelling at case if a secret is a "shipping secret" or a few pixels too large - dude, just be glad people are submitting.

No. I want secret makers to abandon Supernatural and Sherlock fandoms too. The rest I'm fine with.

I agree because I don't think I've ever looked at a secret and went, "Ugh, why did that person submit a secret from that fandom?" Even if I don't like the fandom or don't know the fandom, it existing isn't a negative; I'm just glad that people are still submitting and that maybe OP can find someone else to talk to.

However, I also don't mind seeing secrets about more popular fandoms because a lot of times those are the only ones I know. Some of the smaller pieces of media I've been into basically never get secrets (unless I make them, lol), so I can't count on people knowing those.

Maybe the complainers on either side are different people?

(Anonymous) 2015-08-14 11:11 am (UTC)(link)
Yup. I've been especially loving the Utena secrets lately. It's taken me back to the days when I was just a fledgling otaku (as it was called back then). I even dug out my soundtrack for the musical yesterday and gave it a listen (shocking myself with how far my Japanese comprehension has improved over the years).

So I say, keep bringing on the small fandom secrets! It keeps things more interesting, in my opinion.
