I feel like a pleb to say it but I totally agree. I find it hard to watch older series because the pacing, characterization, and overall look is so different that I just struggle to get into it. I'm sure it'll be the same for current series in 50 years.

I feel the same way about The Bechdel Test. It's not meant to be a checklist that measures whether or not a film is feminist or not. Any time there's some point made about a trend across a lot of media, people immediately want to turn it into a litmus test where it makes each individual movie or show good or bad, pulling it away from the original point of looking at media as a whole to instead get caught up in arguments about whether one individual case is justified or not.

I don't know where I first heard this, but someone once stated that Peridot is a rare female villain (well, a non-biological sex alien, but technicals technicals) who has that Starscream-ish personality and ya know, I agree and I like it. (This is also why I don't agree with the fans who wants her reformed, I think she's much more fun as a baddie. XD)

I don't want to encourage the stalker anons, but this is giving me a really funny mental image/plotbunny.

Guy Gardner is walking down the street, minding his own business, when a crazy hobo jumps into his path and starts ranting about how EVERYONE'S GONNA DIIIIIIIIE!

Before Guy has a chance to respond, the hobo throws a fedora at him and runs away laughing maniacally! Leaving Guy standing there, scratching his head and wondering, "What the fuck was that all about?!"

(It isn't until later that he realizes the fedora was poisoned. Then there's a race against time to find the cure before it's too late!)
