That's it, anon. You have finally flipped that switch that makes me a Takarazuka fan.

(Well, this picture I just came across on takarazukaforever tumblr helped too:

I love Shizuki Asato's Death and followed by her is Haruno Sumire from the Flower Troupe (Hanagumi) production. Then again, Haruno Sumire was the first one I've ever saw, so I'm biased.

My underrated actress to play der Tod (Death) in the Takarazuka Elisabeth is Asaji Saki from the Star Troupe (Hoshigumi) production. Her contralto range in her voice takes long to get used to, but it's her acting that steals the show.

I for one am incapable of being convinced by a Tod who doesn't have a heavy Hungarian accent.

Me, I just can't listen to women playing that role. I have a major thing for voices and the way I've heard them perform it just doesn't sound right to my ears.

YES!!!

Thank you so much for putting up names! I've been seeing pics of this person floating around but no one labeled the fandom or who the person was. I could only trace is back to websites in foreign languages. Google translate wasn't the bast at translating.

I'm so looking this up in greater detail when I get home

a) I can't get over reading german expressions longer than 2 words in english text. I start picturing a little nazi popping out screaming the words at me. Must be due to that SCHMETTERLING video...

b) Ayaki Nao FTW4evah!!

Wow. So everyone who speaks German is a Nazi screaming at you. Good to know. :/

FYI I'm German. Because of that I'm also an ESL-speaker so some stuff that may just be your regular old loanword-incorporation to people whose mothertongue english is may sound weird to me, precisely because the loanword is from my own mothertongue and thus out of context. Single words i've gotten used to, but with an added article it's half a sentence. Incidentally, people suddenly speaking german in the context of english language media is at least 60-70% nazis, and the video I mentioned plays on that fact. I live in southern Hesse and our language is very soft, actually, and sounds nothing like how german is often portrayed in the US. Somehow, though, because I watch a lot of stuff from the US or UK my brain automatically assumes the harder tone for german within an english environment. this is what I meant. And, if you'll look closely, it's also what I said. I said "more than two words german in an english sentence have me picture a nazi popping out" and not "speak german and you're a nazi"
