Surprisingly enough, I don't mind if I like things that are popular. I'm just tired of fandom at large following hype cycles and ending up burned more often than not.

So everyone should be into stuff no one has heard of?

No, where have I said that?

Ideally I'd like if fandom waited a little longer than pre-ordering and midnight releases and looked beyond currently airing stuff, regardless of popularity.

"looked beyond currently airing stuff". Which most likely be stuff that is marketed a lot. Unless you want people to specifically look for stuff no one has heard of.

It just sounds like you have a bone to pick or incredibly black and white thinking and I'm not sure which. Does the term cult classic mean nothing to you? There is so much more to entertainment than stuff no one's ever heard of and heavily marketed blockbuster.

Lol. Like cult classics are any better than a mass marketed movie? Not as mainstream I guess? Because no one has heard of The Rocky Horror Picture Show or Donnie Darko. Those are on the down low.

What are you even going on about? It's like you give a passing glance at the words and make something up at grt angry at.

You're just babbling at this point. Maybe go get something to eat.

Citizen X is ten times better than Hannibal.

Little Big Man makes Dances With Wolves look like The Searchers.

Night Of The Hunter should have made Laughton an A-list director instead of ending his career.

Don't pretend you know things. You don't.

So... people shouldn't go to midnight releases or preorder things that look interesting to them? Whaaaat?

What exactly is your issue with mainstream stuff? Why can't people get excited about mainstream stuff? Guess what, some people don't have the same tastes as you, and that's okay. Something you think is low quality that has a million fans, well, they must be seeing something in it that you don't. And that's okay. Honestly, you need to get over yourself and let people do their own thing, and trust them to like what they like.
