I never understood the whole fake geek girl phenomena. Fake geek people exist in general. Being fake isn't exclusive to a gender. I've run into plenty of idiots who think they're geeks just cause they watch the big bang theory. Shit, most of the fake geeks i come across are male, all I have to do is ask some "BIGGEST BATMAN FAN EVER (aka i only watched the nolan movies but proclaim to know everything about him)" who their favorite Robin is and they pull up a big old blank.

That's a good point. This is one of those phenomena that gets gendered unnecessarily, when it totally doesn't have to be. Weird how everyone falls into the same old boys vs. girls defensive lines, isn't it?

(Also, Tim Drake is best Robin. Obviously.)

In the case of Felicia Day, I think it's more "There's no girl gamers".

One of the better parts of Mark Hammil's Comic Book: The Movie, is when the fanboy/protagonist gets the interview with Kevin Smith. The fanboy asks Smith about his collection, and Smith shrugs and deadpans that he discards comics after reading them. The fanboy's response is a look of complete awe.

I had a "Biggest Batman Fan" ever go off on a rant about how Halle Berry was a terrible Catwoman because Catwoman had never been black before. *cough*

Also overheard a long rant by a very overconfident windbag on how the first three Spiderman movies were better because they got the natural webshooting right, not like this new movie tech nonsense.

I read this and then had to get up and walk around the room silent-ranting about how Eartha Kitt is objectively the Best Catwoman. Seriously?

Kitt was good as Catwoman, but did you ever see the Mission: Impossible episode where she was that week's guest expert, a slinky acrobat who could break into places nobody else could breach? WAY better than her Batman appearances. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2ek8cc_mission-impossible-s01e27-the-traitor_shortfilms
