As a non-American who only knows very vague things about the Three Stooges and the Marx Brothers and who often has to guess at what these kinds of cultural references mean, I understood it as Felicia wanting to throw a pie at Groucho Marx because she always preferred the Stooges and she thinks this is something the Stooges would have done.

Is it something that would make sense to someone who knows both these groups of humorists better than I do?

Yeah, I wasn't super familiar with them, but after reading the thread and some Wikipedia, I conclude -
- She wants to throw a pie at Groucho Marx
- The Stooges throw pies
- the Stooges might have wanted to throw pies at Groucho Marx.
- by throwing a pie she feels like she would be an honorary Stooge, which is nice because she always felt there should have been a girl in them.

If you look at it like this, it actually makes sense. Or at least, it's a lot less nonsensical than what people are saying.

I was going to reply pretty much the same thing. Also non-American, and English isn't my first language.

Either we're both missing some clues, or Felicia made that very joke and nobody got it.
