it says 'old follower' now, but if you google 'zamii 070 griddles' it says 'for another old friend'

Okay, given that she hasn't taken the drawing down, I assume she is still friends or at least friendly with this guy, and that's not okay.

So call her out on that. Don't turn shipping an unhealthy pairing into ""apologism"" or drawing girls in swimsuits into """underage sexualization""". That's bull.

da

That's a ridiculous assumption. It's entirely possible that she hasn't taken the drawing down because it's her work, and she likes it. Or because she hasn't decided what to do with it yet - looking at the timestamps, on the devart page this shit dropped less than a week ago. That isn't much time to process on more than a superficial level, especially if they've been friends for a while.

Fair enough. I was judging by what I'd do, but that isn't the same thing everyone would do.

I'd probably do the same as she's doing - distance myself from the asshole in question, but not delete my work. Especially since it's pretty much guaranteed to be a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. If she leaves the work up, she's supporting the asshole, but if she pulls it, the same people who're accusing her of supporting the asshole will accuse her of trying to cover it up.

And not for nothing, but the defensive responses were all made before anyone presented any actual evidence of wrongdoing. Considering fandom's propensity for howling pedophile over shit like shipping (including shipping two consenting adults if there's a significant age gap, or...whatever the fuck happened with that Sherlock fandom explosion), I can't really blame her for not buying it before that, even if she could have handled things much better.

In DP fandom some of the mod's on Butch Hartman's official message board claimed that a popular r34 artist (Dark DP) was a convicted child molester, without giving any actual proof. They just told everyone it happened, and started making a blacklist of anyone who followed them.

Knowing that I can sorta see why someone would want to wait for actual proof.

This could just as likely be the case.

I, unfortunately, know of a RL example. An ex-friend of my brother's, someone he's known for 10 years, was busted on distribution of CP about six months ago. It took two weeks for my brother to process that information. It was a straight-up real-time performance of the Kübler-Ross five stages of grief.

My brother eventually ended up on, "Bastard's dead to me."

But even to this day, my brother questions whether the signs were there and he just missed them because he was oblivious.

The fact is, I know from experience that sometimes it takes time to process information, especially when it's about someone you thought you knew. In my brother's case, he found out from a newspaper article that his now ex-friend had been arrested and charged. So he at least had receipts.

Going by this thread, it appears receipts didn't appear until after the online accusation was made.
