I love this show, but you're probably right about some of the chemistry with new cast members just not being there. I'm okay with that though, because when there is (HELLO LYDIA AND PARRISH), it's so good for me.

Also, I'm actually invested in Scott's character, and definitely his friendship with Stiles. Given that each season is rather different, it's almost a standalone thing. It's kind of like movies and games, where the sequels don't necessarily require watching a previous title, but there's a sense of pride knowing where the characters who remain have ended up, and how they grew. Teen Wolf isn't a smartly written show, hell I barely pay attention to the specifics of the supernatural logic or action plans (because they're gibberish and i tune out), and it's not exactly consistent in its mythos. But it makes sure that each season has a clear direction and conclusion. I don't think I've ever felt it was a "we don't know where we're even going" sort of show, which is the vibe I get with a lot of popular long-running shows (SPN LOL). Even if it's not future-proofed in regards to the actors, I'm invested!

Now, on the other hand, I'm happy as fuck it's getting abandoned by folk who were watching the show for the wrong reasons. Reasons that suck. suck like a misplaced attachment to derek being competent lol
