Re: How do you refer to your SO when talking to others?

In my language, while we do have words meaning boy/girlfriend, these days most people use 'my friend'. Which I hate. I mean, maybe when it's about your SO it's fine, but when you're single and simply referring to an actual friend, it can get confusing.
