Re: How do you refer to your SO when talking to others?

I call my partner my partner in public, because that's what she is and there is a business component to our relationship. There is to any long term relationship in which finances are shared. I've used it for as long as I've been an adult, because that tends to be what people in egalitarian relationships call the person they're with. It also doesn't automatically imply that there are strictly gendered roles to the relationship, and doesn't automatically inform someone of my sexuality.

I like all of those aspects of the word partner.
